Queen Victoria Ortega

CHIEF VISIONARY OFFICER, CONNIE NORMAN TRANSGENDER EMPOWERMENT CENTER
Her Majesty Queen Victoria Elizabeth Josephine Maria de Ortega y dos Santos believes in leadership through service. Currently, she serves as the International President of FLUX, a Division of AHF, a network of trans leaders dedicated to raising the profile of trans and non-binary community. Queen works as the Chief Visionary Officer at the Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center. Her majesty also serves as Queen of The Royal Court, where through her role as Queen, she leverages her intersectionality to advise and guide organizations and systems. As patron and advisor to many charitable organizations she continues to ensure that tangible and transformative change is happening. Her majesty has also been a member of such bodies as the Los Angeles County Prevention Planning Council, the Los Angeles County Commission on HIV Health Services, the Transgender Service Provider Network, and The California Endowment's Building Healthy Communities.

Queen Chela Demuir, M.A.C.

Pioneer, Founder & Executive Director. Queen Mother Chela has been in service to the LGBTQIA community with a journey that expands over two decades. Although Chela has formal education as a journalist, she developed expertise in trans issues and learned that access to culturally competent support and services for Black trans people were limited. The Unique Woman's Coalition (The UWC) started as a weekly support group to have conversations with the community and it evolved to be the first formal trans organization in Los Angeles created by a Black trans woman. Chela is the founder of "TransGiving Dinner" a banquet with all the traditional trimmings of a holiday meal but focuses on a sense of community and togetherness and is now celebrated in more than 6 states. Chela is a founding member of Trans Pride LA, the first trans pride in the United States. In August 2019, UWC opened headquarters in Watts, becoming the first Black trans lead organization to have a brick & mortar office offering healing groups, STI screening, HIV testing and linkage to care, legal documents clinic and an Ambassador leadership program that aims to build and mentor new leaders. Queen Chela also serves on the board of leadership for the Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center.

Gris Paloma Iris

MEDIA DIRECTOR, CONNIE NORMAN TRANSGENDER EMPOWERMENT CENTER
Paloma has a bachelor’s degree in creative writing from Florida State University and has worked in social media management for the last three years. Her areas of expertise are in TikTok, Instagram and short-form content. With experience in the spiritual and non-profit worlds, Paloma enjoys sharing their time with her Queer community working to heal and elevate themselves. They are passionate about creating life-giving representation of Trans and Nonbinary people's stories and implement that in their work as FLUX's International Director of Media as well as The Connie Norman Transgender Empowerment Center's Media Director.

Lucas Rojas
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, FLUX
Latinx transmasculine-identified indiviual who works in clinical, behavioral, and community based research; specifically with transgender/non-binary/gender non-conforming youth and young adults, as well as in data analysis. For the past 3 years, he has been working on one of the largest NIH funded trans youth study among several community led projects. He is also the Director of Research for the Non-binary & Intersex Recognition Project. They have a degree in Mathematics and Statistics, background in HIV & STI testing and is an advocate in the transgender community! He also presents workshops, develops protocols, and is working on several trans related training videos for health providers and outside communities.

Melody Torres
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR OF HEALTH AND WELLNESS
Melody Torres is co-owner of Hair Lab Studio in Los Angeles and has been in the beauty industry for over 15 years. She is also a Lead Stylist and Make Up Artist for Ulta Beauty. Her hard work and determination to not be a statistic has driven her to succeed. Melody is a Los Angeles native and fully takes advantage of the beautiful views it has to offer. The best way to describe Melody is adventurous and willing to help out however she can, which brings her to FLUX - as the International Director of Health and Wellness. She is excited to bring a healthy way of life and a culture of wellness to the community. Melody has studied at Yale University for the Science of Wellness and she sees this as being given the chance to share her story, lead, and inspire her community.

Liza Marie Ceballos
INTERNATIONAL DIRECTOR OF OUTREACH
Liza's passion for advocacy stems from her own experiences as a trans woman. She understands firsthand the struggles and discrimination that trans individuals face, and she has made it her mission to create change and fight for equality. Liza believes that education and visibility are key to creating a more accepting and inclusive society. In addition to her work at the TransLatin@ Coalition, Liza is also a public speaker and has shared her story at various events and conferences. She hopes to inspire others to speak out and advocate for their own communities. Overall, Liza Ceballos is a dedicated and passionate advocate for the trans community. Through her work at the Trans Latin@ Coalition and her volunteer efforts at other organizations, she is creating real change and making a difference in the lives of those around her.
